If you are thinking of taking the break from the booze and being the responsible, sober adult for the night or just not drinking at all in NYC would be very difficult, it is not an annoying thing at all. Who will be able to resist the allure of locally brewed beers, nice ass wine bars, and cocktail mixology?
However, along with vast amounts of alcohol, there would be huge amounts of delicious non-alcoholic drinks too. Some people are mostly sober in this fine city, and the social life is not happening with old lime wedges. So, if you are struggling with the Dry January then see the below guide. These eight bars and restaurants are offering the best non-alcoholic drinks in NYC in those times when you are not drinking and can enjoy even when you are.
Sodas at Soda Fountain and Brooklyn Farmacy:
The 1920s apothecary was restored in the neighborhood soda fountain where they are serving everything, which is locally made. The ice cream was great but what wanted is the tall handmade soda. They are combining perfectly the fizzy seltzer from the actual soda fountain and not a soda gun. The soda syrups are boiled in the small batches with real fruit and spices from cola to lemon.
Seasonal varieties are very delightful, snag a red raspberry soda and strawberry in the summer and the grapefruit in the winter. My personal favourite is the Cherry Lime Rickey, which is combining the cherry syrups and the lime with all the natural maraschino cherry on top of it. Share this one with someone cute and then you will not miss the alcohol.
Mock tails at Fig. 19:
Fid. 19 is the speakeasy that feels like the speakeasy. Walk through the brightly lit, white-walled art gallery and open the door in the back to the dim bar having plenty of cozy seating and a surprising lack of pretentiousness.
Similar to other NYC speakeasies, Fig. 19's bartenders are very friendly, and at least when people are there, they take joy in making mocktails when it is requested. Unique ingredients are available like lemon agave, rose syrup, blackberry puree and herbs de Provence syrup. Who would not like it?
You would be able to unlock NYC's best nightlife when you are carrying the barcard. It is straightforward to use and acceptable almost all the places.
